Let us look at the week that will be, week 7 of the 2023 CFL season. Some of this week’s games will have enormous impact on the standings. Let us get at it.
Game 1 Edmonton vs Winnipeg
The winless Elks head to Winnipeg to take on an incredibly angry Bombers team. As we know the Bombers blew a huge lead last week and lost to Ottawa, they will be out to prove once again that this is just a blip on the radar. The Elks on the other hand are struggling, to say the least. 0 and 6 heading into tonight’s game and everything seems like it is in shambles in what used to be called City of Champions. Nothing fixes all that ails a team than a win, but I can not see that happening tonight. Take the Bombers to keep the Smurf Mafia happy.
Game 2 Toronto Vs Hamilton
This one could be the upset of the week. Toronto had been the best in the league this season so far but like every streak it must end eventually, and I just have a feeling that the underdogs might just take it. I am still putting my money on TO to win but I might sneak a small bet in on Hamilton as a huge under dog. If you want to play it safe take Toronto to win!
Game 3 Saskatchewan at BC
This is going to be THE game of the week. The rider come off a disappointing loss vs the Stamps last week and you can be sure they are going to want to put a W back up on the board to stay ahead of Calgary in the Standings. They have a tough task as my BC Lions are coming off a Bye week and are ready to continue what has been an amazing start. IT looks like the Dome will be loud as they have opened the upper bowl for only the 2nd time this season. I am of course taking my Lions to win but when I looked at the betting odds, they have BC winning by 8.5 I honestly think this one will be closer than that, so if you are a betting person take the spread and take Riders. I will still take BC for the win but by 3.5.
Game 4 Ottawa at Calgary
I am looking forward to Sunday’s game, not only because I will be a McMahon, but I really think this one will be a coin toss. Both teams are coming off HUGE wins last week and are ready to show it was not a fluke. Ottawa will stick with rookie QB Crum who looked amazing in last weeks come from behind win over the Bombers and Stamps will go with Maier to run their offense, I am taking the Stamps in this one but look for Ottawa to put up a fight.
