Eastern Battle

The undefeated Argos heading down to 401 to take on the 2-2 Alouttes. Toronto is coming off their 2nd bye week of this season, while Montreal played Sunday night. I was expecting a good game, and the teams did not let me down. If you liked hard hitting, in your face football this was your game. If you like long ball, amazing catches and even better defensive plays or tough running smash mouth football this one had it all. Chad Kelly went an amazing 21/25 for 351 yards in the air. Well, his counter part Cody Fajardo went 26/36 for 281 yards. This one was anyone’s game from start to finish. Toronto took an early 7 nothing lead only to see Montreal score a TD and a FG in the 2nd to take a slim 10 – 7 lead into half time. The Argo’s came out in the 2nd half proving why they are the only undefeated team in the CFL this year, scoring 13 points in the 3rd to take a 20-13 lead into the final quarter. The teams tallied 4 touch downs in the 4th quarter. Montreal’s Tyler Snead pulled in 2 Td passes from Fajardo, while Damonte Coxie and David Ungerer III getting the Td’s for Toronto and Boris Bede getting the rouge pt for missing a FG attempt from the 43-yard line. Cody Fajardo tried the hail Mary pass with no time left on the clock only to have the pass intercepted to end the game and give Toronto their 4th win of the season and they remain undefeated.

This was by far the best game of the season to date. Like I mention it offered everything a fan could want. On the downside Cody Fajardo was sacked 4 more times adding to the 22 times he has been sack coming into this game. I was watching during this game to see if it was a o line issue or a QB issue and to be honest, I could not really tell. Cody is a scrambling type QB which makes it tough on his o line to provide protection as he is not a straight drop and throw the ball type passer. I came out of this game believing both teams will be playing in the East final. Chad Kelly once again proved the nonbelievers that he IS in fact one of the best in the league this year. Toronto is an exciting team to watch play, they have it all, hard hitting defensive game and an explosive offensive game. They are the team to beat this year. Full credit to Chad Kelly and his team mates on this win.

We have a double header to watch today unfortunately I will be out reporting on the Western Canadian Baseball Leagues Allstar Game and will have to rely on highlights for my article tomorrow. Remember forgetting all the crap you see on social media, the CFL is in good shape. TSN ratings are on the rise, watch the game for the pure enjoyment of the game.
