We’re back with another week of controversial Power Rankings. Let’s Jump into it!
If you missed any action from this past week, check out the Old Man’s Week 12 Review.
1. Toronto Argonauts
Still the team to beat, Chad Kelly is the BEST QB in the league and the defending Grey Cup champions are on pace to be the team to beat in the playoffs. In my opinion, unless Kelly gets injured there won’t be a #1 team other than the Argo’s
2. Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Well, the Bombers keep finding ways to win. Every week, when I think “Oh, maybe they’re finally falling off” and Collaros throws 2 Pick-sixes in a half. But Nope, the Bombers are the team to beat in the west. Biggest game still could be the Oct. 6th with the Lions as that could determine home field advantage!
3. Montreal Alouettes
Despite a 30 point loss, the Alouettes move up and I this has nothing to do with the Alouettes… But with who they swapped places with. The Al’s are a distant 2nd in the East but hold onto that position quite easily.
4. BC Lions
Well, what can you say. The Elks have more wins this month than the Lions do. Questions around peaking too early can definitely start now. I am hopeful they can turn it around and be fighting with the Bombers for the Bye in the Playoffs but they NEED to start winning games.
5. Saskatchewan Roughriders
Only 1.5 games behind the Lions to get a home playoff game. This could easily be changed as the next 2 games are against the Bombers. BUT, with Jake Dolegala being announced as the starter and the way he played against the Lions, there is a chance.
6. Hamilton TigerCats
A Very Very solid showing this week against the Lions. Butler showed up with a chip on his shoulder and ran it down the throats of what was a very staunch Defense. If they keep playing like this, they can keep rising through the standings and Power Rankings. However a Home and Home with the Argos might bring the team back down to reality.
7. Edmonton Elks
2 Wins. 2 Wins and this team is not out of the playoff race. Maybe that shows the weakness of the west division but with Tre Ford on the field as QB1. This team could end up being a playoff team. The Labour Day Classic and Revenge match with the Stamps will end up showing who will be the 3rd team in what will be a 4 team race for 3 playoff spots
8. Calgary Stampeders
After a very very disappointing season so far, the Stampeders just can’t put together a full game. If they drop the labour day games against the Elks, this would mark the end of the Dickenson era in my opinion.
9. Ottawa RedBlacks
I just don’t have much to say about the Team. Crumb looked like he was going to be a story for this year but I just don’t think he has the pieces around him. 5 Losses in a row and they find themselves at the bottom of the Power Rankings.
